The New
Polarie U Star Tracker is an ultra-compact automatic star tracking device designed to transport easily and to not interrupt the orientation of the camera . This package includes the new Polarie Polar Scope PF-L II. The Polarie U also features a function for
customizing the rotation speed using a smartphone and you are able to control
the intervals of shots by adjusting the shutter release. By linking Polarie U's
motion with the shutter release, you can easily set up complex shooting
controls required for time lapse and interval photography, using your smartphone.
Experiment with Star-Scape Photography that
captures the starry night and landscape below. Using a wide angle lens this
creates impressive photos of stars and scenery combined. Selecting half sidereal rate allows you to capture both sky and landscape for impressive images
The Polarie U is a completely re-designed star
tracker. By moving the bearings supporting the rotating shaft, the weight is
reduced by 20% from the original Polarie. The loading weight on the Polarie U
is 5.5 lbs. This is increased to 14lbs when the Polarie Multi mounting block
and dovetail slide bare are attached to Polarie U. When using Polarie for
time-lapse photography, the Polarie U can hold a loading weight of about 22lbs,
usable with large equipment when the Polarie U is set for time-lapse
photography and placed horizontally using the attached bubble level.

Using the Polarie U App on your smartphone, you are able to
customize settings of interval time, exposure and rotation speed. In
addition to the tracing speeds of Sidereal rate, Half Sidereal rate, solar
tracking, and Lunar tracking, the Polarie U also has a custom mode for you to
determine the tracking speed. The initial setting is 4x sidereal rate and you
can adjust this using our smartphone.

Multiple tracking options are available. In addition to half sidereal rate for star scape photography, you can select sidereal rate to track at the same rate as the motion of the stars. Perfect for capturing constellations, the Milky Way and faint celestial objects. Solar tracking is designed for shooting solar eclipse and Lunar tracking for lunar eclipses. Custom mode allows you to change the rate using a smart phone.
Polarie U features a "shoot-move-shoot" function linked to your camera. You can stop the motion of your camera during exposure when shooting in time-lapse and start the motion again when the exposure finishes. Helps you create better quality images.
Polarie U has a camera connecting port (shutter release terminal) that controls the camera shutter when using interval shooting. Using your smart phone you can adjust these shutter controls.
Polarie includes an auto-guider port for use with many autoguiders to move the
mount in the R.A. direction.

Tracking direction is indicated with blinking icons on the Polarie U. The direction of the slide power switch shows the direction of rotations in the norther and southern hemispheres.

Power is supplied to the Polarie U in 2 manners. The Polarie U works with 4 AA batteries. In addition, it is equipped with a USB external power supply port and will work with commercially available mobile batters.

The Camera Mounting Block, which comes with the Polarie U is equipped with a 1/4" camera screw. Most commercially available ball heads will fit on this. The Polarie Multi Mounting Block (sold separately), can replace the camera mounting block to increase the loading capacity for serious astrophotography. With the use of a dovetail slide bar DD (optional), this can transform Polarie U into an imaging platform for a telephoto lens or short tube telescope.
Polarie U mounts on a tripod with the 3/8" screw on the bottom and back side of the unit, if the camera mounting block is exposed on the front side. The Polarie U will mount on a 1/4" or 3/8" tripod with a pre-installed adapter.

The Polarie U comes equipped with a bubble level useful for horizontal orientation. In addition, it is equipped with a scale in 5 degree increments that allow you to check the angle of rotation roughly during time-lapse photography.

A detachable sight tube finder is supplied for rough polar alignment in the norther hemisphere. When shooting with a wide photo lens, it is easy to locate Polaris at the center of the finder tube's field of view.

The Newest Vixen Polarie U Polar Scope PF-L helps you increase the accuracy of the polar alignment. An optional arm bracket (sold separately - Item 65494) is required to attach the polar alignment scope to the PolarieU. In addition, it is necessary to use a tripod with a fine-motion adjustment to ensure precise alignment. The Polarie Fine Adjustment Unit (35492) and the APP-TL-130 tripod are sold separately.
PRODUCT FEATURES: ■ In the northern hemisphere, the polar axis is aligned by placing three bright stars in the specified positions. ■ No need to set hour angle. ■ The built-in scale is illuminated in red, so that it is clearly visible in the night sky. ■ The brightness of the dimmable illumination can be adjusted ■ When pressing the illumination button, the scale is illuminated for one to two minutes. ■ Power will automatically turn off after one to two minutes to prevent unnecessary power consumption.
